Fall is here at Truckee Tahoe!

October 11, 2019 by Katherina Haug Leave a Comment

The leaves are suddenly turning here in Truckee-Tahoe! Fall foliage abounds in our gorgeous mountain home, and the Lake is a crisp dark blue, light winds and calm autumnal weather. Everywhere you look, the Aspen trees are turning, yellows, red, orange. Displayed against the beautiful blue skies, the deep dark blue of Tahoe, and the green of the pines standing tall, the colors just POP!

It’s time to get out and explore the beauty here all around us- no matter where you look, there is something beautiful to see. We are home to some incredible hiking. For a great list of hikes, visit here. This list is Truckee-specific, but give me a call if you’re at the Lake and ready to get some hiking in! There are several creeks and valleys with beautiful Aspens going, and of course Squaw Valley is home to some incredible foliage! One of my favorite spots are the hike up to Marlette Lake. The trailhead area is filled with Aspens!

There are a few amazing things to do this fall, as we head into winter, that I can’t wait to enjoy–

To show off Truckee’s coveted California Cultural District designation, and highlight its diverse cultural offerings, Visit Truckee created FALL INTO ART, a Fall Festival, Sept 1-October 31st, ongoing NOW! Check out more here!

Tahoe Donner’s Fall Festival is coming up this Saturday October 12! This will be the10th Annual event. Enjoy a day of special performances, live music, costume competition, kids carnival area, arts and crafts vendors, a pumpkin patch, pony rides, seasonal beer offerings, Oktoberfest-inspired food and more!

Celebrate the changing of the seasons with games, arts & crafts, and pumpkins at the TCPUD Parks and Recreation Department annual Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch. The event will be held Saturday, October 12, 10am-2pm at Tahoe City’s Commons Beach.
