It’s been an ongoing downpour of rain (Booo!) up here in Lake Tahoe for the past few days. With winds at the ridge lines yesterday and today upwards of 120 mph, ski resorts have limited operations running. With large amounts of snow on the ground from our JanuBURIED January (23 feet in the month!) the rain is not able to drain as easily into storm drains, and the ground. As a result, roads are beginning to flood as the water sits on our streets.
Here’s a video of flooding in Tahoe City heading down the west shore!
The rain should last until about tomorrow afternoon, and turn to snow by Friday thankfully. Then we’ve got atleast 4-5 days of sun again to dry things out.
