Such great news out of Lake Tahoe! Snow and rain have brought us an amazing amount of precipitation.
On February 15, 2017, lake levels were at 6,226.3 feet, having risen nearly 4 ft above the low of last summer 2016 at 6222.5. The lake is nearing the lakes maximum height of 6,229.1 ft.
Today, February 27th, we see the Lake level at 6,226.82 feet, that’s over 6 inches in just about a week! I can tell you it’s clearly swollen. The horizon line even looks higher! With more precipitation in the forecast, March, April, and May’s weather still to come, and all the snowmelt ready to melt and fill the Lake even further, we may see the Lake hit above its legal limit.
Here is a great resource to follow on the Lake level.
Who’s ready for skiing in the morning, and boating in the afternoon this summer? I AM.
