A note from Mountain Lion Aviation: “Our Chairman Jim Wilkinson strongly strives to help build women business leaders as it is a passion of his, with the main driving force and inspiration being his daughter Sierra. We are all fortunate to have Jim’s leadership as a true innovator, advocate, and champion of women.”
The financial resources from Mountain Lion Aviation will directly boost women’s athletics at Nevada via the department’s Pack PAWS (Promoting and Advancing Women’s Sports) initiative on campus, which provides the academic and athletic resources necessary for the University’s 200+ female student-athletes to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in their future careers.
“The partnership with Mountain Lion Aviation is more than a simple sponsorship. This is an innovative investment in Wolf Pack athletics created by a highly successful leader, entrepreneur and worldwide businessman,” said Doug Knuth, Nevada’s athletics director. “Jim Wilkinson’s passion, business savvy and hands-on involvement will help the Pack as much as his financial investment. We are excited to partner with Mountain Lion Aviation, Mr. Wilkinson’s family and his staff to support women’s athletics. These important resources will be a differentiator for our female athletes, on the field in the classroom and in their future careers.”
“There can be no doubt that women’s sports simply do not get the same financial resources as men’s sports,” said Mountain Lion Aviation Chairman, Jim Wilkinson. “Nevada has a strong and deep commitment to women’s athletics and we’re proud to partner with them on this historic sponsorship that will at least begin to level the playing field.”
