Growing up, we would always go to the Sonoma County Fair, with its delicious funnel cakes, and quilt, flower, jam, canned goods and pie contests. I feel like it’s a very American wild-west event, bringing 4-H and quilts together with the millennial of today. Maybe it’s different these days, but I like the idea.
As such, I am ecstatic to have heard that the Placer County Fair, held in Roseville is offering FREE admission this year. I’m going to try and make the trip down, and can’t wait to report back on how it goes. Hopefully there are ranchers, there are yuppies, there are hippies, and there are grandmas sharing their experience and stories in a celebration of produce, food, family, and history, all in the name of America, and bringing us back to the connectivity we all have with one another as neighbors, as friends in this world.
