Lake Tahoe Braces for The Next Storm
With more than 80 inches reported around the Lake from this past storm, Lake Tahoe and Truckee are a beautiful white winter wonderland. Branches are caked with snow, the mountains are decked in glory, and Lake Tahoe is shining in its blanket of beauty. With sun shining today, we have a small break in between storms this week. However this weekend meteorologists are forecasting a Pineapple Express deluge of rain to hit the west coast, and unfortunately temperatures are supposed to rise a bit to bring us rain here in Lake Tahoe as well.
Placer County Emergency Services recommends all homeowners and travelers be on high alert, and protect their property from flooding and heavy downpours. With all the snow on the ground, water will not have anywhere to go, and may flood more than normal. There are numerous sites in Lake Tahoe and Truckee to obtain sandbags if required.
